Why should I buy from Ocoee Outfitters and not a BBS (Big Box Store)?
Knowledge…. Unlike the typical employee of a BBS, we all use the products that we sell. We can then better fit you into a kayak or canoe because we have actually had the same product in the water and truly know how it feels / reacts under different conditions.
Can I demo a kayak or canoe?
Again unlike the BBS’er out there you can actually pull one off the shelf and paddle it, anything in stock that is…
Does a demo cost anything?
Well yes and no. We have two types of demos, a super demo and a extend demo. A “super demo” is a supervised demo where one of our staff is present when you try the kayak / canoe out. These are scheduled demos at a pre-set time where you can try more than one boat. This type of demo does not cost you anything.
A extend demo is where we take a kayak / canoe to your location for you to try for a day / weekend / week. This demo does have a cost depending on type of boat and length of time used.
What if I buy a boat from you and it does not work out for me? We will gladly take the boat back and apply the cost of the boat (dependent upon condition) against another boat that you would like to upgrade to. Several of our customers start with an entry level kayak and go up from there as their skill level / needs progress.
Do you offer any classes?
At this point we really are not geared for that. Our sales manager (that paddles every chance he gets) does take customers “for a ride, free of charge” when he goes on a local river if they meet his launch time. The stories from those “trips” are humorous to say the least.
